about

I had stopped making music altogether a couple bunch of months ago , and never intended to do anything related to music creation again. I had tried my hand at making video games, or small projects at the very least, and was kind of forced into making some music for it.

The first game I worked on for a few months was titled Retroaktief, a game where the player takes control of a small robot tasked with clearing the house of bugs while the owners are away, working as part of a larger computer system installed in the attic. The idea was that the player would work with the mother system and other lesser robots to complete tasks.

I managed to create two levels where the player fights ants, roaches and robotic toys. That was all really, a small demo that amounted to nothing. This is the music I made to accompany each level, as I had a rough idea of the levels that would follow as the player progressed.

The second game I worked on had no specific name other than project Speedrunner, and was a runner game where the player was completing levels before the timer runs out.

The third game attempt was titled KAMFER, where you control a soldier fighting cultists in a 90's or Quake aesthetic. This produced one demo level with a bunch of different enemies.

This was also the beginning of the end for my would be game development career. All of it melded into a single word: Retroaktief. These here are last tracks I made, a culmination of both classical and synthesized. One part game soundtrack, one part frustration from not achieving my own goals.

If anyone can find a use for them they can use it free of charge with no royalties and as few restrictions as Bandcamp will allow, all under Attribution 3.0.

This really is the last stuff I ever made, and for my own mental health and serotonin deficiency, it would be best if it stayed that way. Failure is a good learning school, but only in small doses. Hope someone out there can find some enjoyment/use from this little collective.
